Once there was a girl named Geeta. She lived in a small town. She was orphaned at an early age and hence grew with up with her grandparents.
Her school was closed for the holidays and her happiness knew no bounds. She disliked school because of the bullying she faced. She wasn’t a tough person and the school bullies found her a perfect target for their mischief.
One clear evening, Geeta set off to the forest to find out about the lake, people had been talking about. She took her bicycle and started pedaling towards the forest.
Soon she found herself in the quiet forests away from all the noise. As she went further, she reached the lake she had come in search of. The lake was beautiful just like the people had described it.
As Geeta stood there looking at the reflection of the sun in the lake, she heard a faint sound coming from behind her and turned back to find forest police running towards her. Shocked looking at the police officer, without realizing what she was doing, she took her bicycle and pedaled deep into the forest.
She was quick and so lost track of the police behind her. Tired, she mounted her bicycle and sat on a rock. The very next moment she heard a loud roar which startled her.
Immediately, she found herself face to face with a lion. Geeta stood there paralyzed, and the lion didn’t move either. It seemed as if the lion was equally shocked to find a human near its habitat. For a few seconds, they just stared at each other.
Then the lion made a swift movement bringing Geeta back to her senses. She screamed and moved back. The lion advanced towards her and Geeta picked a stick lying beside her. But the lion grabbed the stick from her hand and threw it down.
Just when Geeta thought it was the end, there was a flash of light. Looking at the source of the light, she was happy to see a group of forest police. The police scared the lion away and asked Geeta if she was all right. She told them she was fine and thanked them.
Among the group of police, she was surprised to recognize one of them as the police who chased her.
The police looking at Geeta’s angry face laughed. He came near her and said, “I was not running after you, but for the lion which was a just a few paces away from you. You thought I was running after you, didn’t you?”. Hearing this, she laughed at herself for being so foolish.
This adventure Geeta had not only helped her gain good friendship with the police but also self-confidence which helped her tackle the bullies in her school.
